Terms and conditions

1. Services Provided

The Liberate Your Space offers home and office decluttering, organising, and consultation services. All services are tailored to the customer’s individual needs as agreed during the initial consultation.

2. Customer Responsibilities

Customers agree to:

  • Be present or contactable during the session, unless otherwise arranged.
  • Provide a safe, respectful working environment.
  • Make all final decisions regarding the retention, donation, or disposal of items.
  • Arrange for the removal of unwanted items unless this has been included in the service.
  • Ensure adequate parking is available. The customer is responsible for any parking or permit fees required during the session.

3. Booking & Cancellation Policy

  • A 50% deposit is required to confirm all bookings (see Fees & Payment).
  • The deposit is non-refundable if a cancellation is made with less than 48 hours’ notice.
  • Cancellations made with more than 48 hours’ notice may be rescheduled, or the deposit can be transferred to a future booking. Any future / rescheduled bookings must take place within 60 days of the original booking.
  • Missed appointments without notice will be charged in full.
  • We reserve the right to cancel any session if the deposit is not received within 24 hours of booking.
  • All cancellations or booking amendments must be submitted in writing by email to paul@liberateyourspace.co.uk.
  • Verbal cancellations (including phone, WhatsApp and text messages) will not be considered valid.

4. Fees & Payment

  • All fees will be confirmed prior to the start of a session.
  • A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your session.
  • Deposits must be paid by bank transfer within 24 hours of booking, or by credit card at the time of booking.
  • The remaining balance is due at the end of the session and is payable by credit card.
  • Failure to pay the deposit within the specified time may result in the cancellation of your appointment.
  • Deposits are non-refundable in the event of a late cancellation (see Cancellation Policy).

5. Session Duration

  • Each session has a minimum duration of 3 hours and a maximum of 7.5 hours.
  • During sessions exceeding 4 hours, an unpaid break of up 30 minutes may be taken for lunch. This break is not chargeable to the customer and will be agreed at a convenient point during the session.

6. Confidentiality & GDPR Compliance

All personal data collected (including names, addresses, contact details, health information such as allergies, and emergency contacts) will be handled in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

  • Data is stored securely and used solely for the purpose of delivering services.
  • No personal data will be shared with third parties without prior consent, unless required by law.
  • Customers have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of their data at any time.

7. Emergency Contact Details

We will always ask you to provide an emergency contact before your session. This is for safety reasons—if something unexpected happens, like a medical emergency or accident, and you become unwell or unresponsive, we may need to get in touch with someone on your behalf. This contact information will be stored securely, kept private, and only used if there is an emergency.

8. Food Allergies & Consumption

Occasionally, staff may bring or consume food during break periods. If anyone in the household has food allergies or dietary sensitivities (e.g. nuts, gluten, etc.), please inform us in advance so that we can take appropriate precautions.

9. Liability

  • Every effort is made to treat customers’ belongings with care. However, The Liberate Your Space cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage unless caused by gross negligence.
  • Customers are advised to remove or secure valuable or fragile items prior to the session.
  • We accept no responsibility for accidents or injuries resulting from existing hazards on the customer’s premises.

10. Health & Safety

  • Customers must ensure that the working environment is safe and hygienic.
  • We reserve the right to refuse or suspend services if the environment presents a risk to health or safety.

11. Donations & Disposal

If requested, we can assist in sorting items for donation or disposal. However, responsibility for final decisions rests solely with the customer.

  • Physical removal of items must be pre-arranged.
  • If disposal of items by The Liberate Your Space is required, the customer must ensure access to a driveway or an outdoor space suitable for temporary storage and loading of items. Without this access, disposal may not be possible.

12. Customer Confirmation at Session End

At the end of each session, the customer will be asked to sign a confirmation form stating that they have made the final decisions regarding any items to be removed, donated, or disposed of. This is to ensure mutual understanding and to confirm that all decluttering actions have been authorised by the customer.

13. Amendments

These Terms and Conditions may be updated from time to time. The most current version will always be available upon request or via our website.
