For anyone that doesn't struggle with clutter, these photos can sometimes look like things have simply "been tidied up".
That doesn't really start to tell the story. For anyone that does struggle, clutter can often be overwhelming and paralysing. Sometimes, all we can do is close the door or cupboard and the clutter stays as a jumbled mess. Over time, we become accustomed to it and can't see a way out.
Most of my clients can't get their heads round making a start and if they do, it often feels too much. My client below had so many clothes, 90% of which didn't fit or they didn't like. By focussing on what they did like and wore, one by one, they were able to let go of most of it and feel like they could breathe again. They also found clothes they loved that they hadn't seen for ages.
Some of those were washed in case you were wondering why it looks look 99.99% is gone! The whole bedroom was tackled and a huge amount went, including unwanted toys, games, magazines and more. I also gave some ideas on how to manage the space more effectively.
The work with my client below was done in three hours. In that time we tackled two big drawers, a pull out cabinet and her main work surface, all of which were completely covered. Emptying and sorting one drawer freed up room to put the attachements in from her new appliance which had been in boxes. We also put proceedures put in place to ensure everything stayed tidy and easy to find. The most exciting thing was reclaiming her work surface and having space to cook again.
My client below had a room which had become a dumping fround over the years. They were keen to reclaim the space so it could become used as a spare bedroom. In a three hour session we cleared drawers, boxes of paperwork and various bits and pieces that were taking up residence and adding to the clutter.
The racket on top of the filing cabinet was going somewhere after I left. I just wanted to clairfy that so it doesn't look like I add to the clutter which wouldn't be very helpful.
